With over 20 years of experience in the jewellery industry, I have had the opportunity to work across almost every side of the business. From working directly with customers to buying diamonds, valuing jewellery and supplying diamonds to jewellers and jewellery workshops throughout Ireland, my career has given me a unique understanding of what goes into choosing and creating a truly special piece of jewellery.
Cotter & Co was created to bring all of that experience together and offer customers a more personal way to buy and create jewellery.
My Story
Over 20 Years of Jewellery Experience
My journey in the jewellery industry began in a small jewellers, where I developed my passion for jewellery and learned the importance of personal service and building genuine relationships with customers.
I then spent over 10 years working with a well-established, high-end jeweller. Starting as a sales assistant, I worked my way through the business and developed my expertise across a range of areas, eventually becoming a diamond buyer, jewellery valuer and Graduate Gemologist from HRD Antwerp.
My gemmological training and experience have given me a deep understanding of diamonds and gemstones, from selecting and sourcing stones to understanding their quality, characteristics and value.
Just as importantly, my years working directly with customers taught me that buying a special piece of jewellery is about much more than the jewellery itself. It is about trust, confidence and knowing that you are making the right choice.
I later spent more than 10 years working on the trade side of the jewellery industry, supplying diamonds to jewellers and jewellery workshops throughout Ireland.
Working behind the scenes in the trade gave me an insight into the craftsmanship, expertise and attention to detail required to create beautiful jewellery. It also allowed me to build strong relationships throughout the Irish jewellery industry and develop an extensive knowledge of diamonds, gemstones and the jewellery-making process.

Why I created Cotter & Co
After more than two decades in the jewellery industry, I decided to bring all of my experience together and create Cotter & Co.
The idea was simple: to offer customers a more personal way to buy and create jewellery.
Cotter & Co specialises in engagement rings, wedding rings and bespoke jewellery, with a particular focus on diamonds and gemstones. I wanted to create a business where customers could have direct access to experienced jewellery expertise and receive personal, honest advice without the pressure or formality that can sometimes come with traditional jewellery shopping.
Being an online jeweller also allows me to operate with lower overheads than a traditional high-street jewellery shop. This means I can focus on what matters most: sourcing beautiful jewellery, offering expert advice and giving every customer a genuinely personal experience.
